Funeral Flowers - Sustainability

Sustainability at Michelle’s Flowers Ltd

We are making an effort to be more environmentally friendly and supporting the idea of sustainability.  We are offering a way to recycle your funeral flowers and help the Prince of Wales Hospice at the same time.

The Prince of Wales Hospice relies on kind donations from the Community to keep the Hospice going, providing vital care for both Patients and their Families.  Some people do not realise that whilst the care is free for patients, it’s not free to provide so we need to raise vital funds to keep all our services going.  All donations whether big or small will help to cover the costs of patient care, for example it costs around £500 for 1 day care for a patient.

The Process:

When ordering your funeral flowers indicate that you would like them to be recycled (this can be all the flowers or just some of them)

You can return the funeral flowers directly to Michelle’s Flowers or we can collect them from the Funeral Home you are using.

We will then make a cash donation on your behalf to the Prince of Wales Hospice

We will then reuse any plastic frames or letters by replacing the foam in them and saving them from going into land fill.

Any flowers donated back can be used to create tea cup arrangements for the patients in the Hospice or floral arrangements for the reception/communal areas.

We are trying to find ways of helping the environment whilst also helping a very worthy local cause.
